LM's Lemonick leaves to start Naval and soccer career at US Naval Academy
|

August 29th 2011, recently graduated Lower Merion soccer co-captain Michael
Lemonick adhered to the first of many orders to be received from the United States Navy
...."Michael Lemonick, you are hereby ordered to report to the United States Naval
Academy at Annapolis Maryland no later than 1800 hours on 29 August 2011..."
Lemonick would now begin what is called "Plebe" training, where he will learn the
basics of Naval and military courtesies, customs, uniforms, orders, sea navigation, combat
situations and the backbone of any successful team...team work. After the completion of
his Plebe training, Michael will begin continuous military training, as well as working towards
a college degree from one of the nations top academic schools and also taking his soccer
skills to the fields of Annapolis.
In 2015, Lemonick will receive his commission as an officer into the United States Navy
as an Ensign, or into the United States Marine Corps as a 2nd Lieutenant.
In the next few weeks Michael will endure hard military training, his body and mind will
be put to the test. But if you know Michael and have seen him lead on the field of Lower
Merion soccer, you know that being as committed as he is, that he will be extremely
successful. Michael will also be playing for the US Naval Academy soccer team, a highly
ranked Division One soccer team.
The ENTIRE LM Soccer community wish Michael the best of luck during his Plebe
training and during his tenure at the Naval Academy.
